2013 IFI Redd Count at 17 year high

The final 2013 redd count  has come in just on 2,000 redds which is the highest number in the past 17 years. The count has only exceed 1,500 in  2 other years (2001 and 2007),with an average (mean) over the period of just over 1,000 redds.

While this is encouraging, the  count is only indicative of the trend as  individual years are significantly impacted by high water levels and visibility and the return to the river will be effected by both survival to smolting and in particular survival at sea.
